Radha Yadav : A Brief Biography

Radha Yadav is an Indian cricketer who plays for the national side. She has been a part of West Zone, Mumbai and Baroda in the domestic level.

Background

Radha was born on 21 April 2000. She is a slow left arm orthodox bowler. She made her debut for the national side on 13 February 2018 in T20 against South Africa. She played last T20 on 11 November 2018 against Pakistan. Radha was the first cricketer from Gujarat to represent the country on an international stage. She is a left handed batsman.

She is a very agile fielder and her alertness and sharpness on the field saves many crucial runs for the team. Radha is also known to have batted quite a few important innings in the domestic level.

Domestic Career

Radha had quite an animated domestic career. Radha played for Mumbai in her very initial years but shifted to Baroda in 2014-15. She played for Baroda in the U-19 West Zone tournament, senior women’s one-day tournament, senior women’s T20 tournament and U-23 West Zone one-day tournament. Radha was absolutely exceptional in the U-19 tournament where she scored 138 runs and bagged 35 wickets from 8 matches. Her consistency won her a permanent spot in the India A team. Radha has also played for the India Blue team.

National Call-Up

Radha Yadav made her debut for the national side on 13 February 2018 in T20 against South Africa. She also became the first from Gujarat to make it to the playing eleven of the national side. An inexperienced 18 year old Radha, replaced an experienced injured Rajeshwari Gayakwad in the PayTM Women's T20 Triangular Series. Gayakwad suffered from a webbing injury on her right hand against Australia. she grabbed this opportunity with both the hands and proved her worth to the team and selectors. Radha Yadav has been an important part of the team ever since.

In October 2018, Radha was named for the 2018 World T20 squad to be held in West Indies.
